Grotta Azzurra - AOSTA

Good food, service and people. I loved the place and I would recommend.

We stumbled in this picturesque pizza place in a torential downpour and found it warm, welcoming, and oh so italian! It is definitely a place and we stood like a dark thumb. The waiter treated our English with such good humor. I remember the lasagna that melted in my mouth, the best lasagna I've ever had! Really. And the wood-fired pizza was in no way disappointing... in fact, there was a desire to rush back to the states and an outdoor wood-fired pizza oven hoping to duplicate this amazing taste and texture. Grotta Azzurra, we're coming back! We will return to Italy to come to your restaurant for lunch! P.S. Are you coming?

Where the locals eat. Great fish and seafood if you know what to order. Sardella with vinegar and small octopus is so delicious. Fish al Forno with olives and potatoes is always fresh and excellent. Very good pizza and pasta especially the terra e mare and al vongole. It can be loud in a perfect Italian way. It is a basic place with great food and very friendly service. In summer, the back open space is a wonderful place and totally mysterious. Don't miss this little jewel

I dined alone and was spoiled as if I was the daughter of the owner. I ate as much of the delicious pizza that could. So good!
