Since, Gabrieau's Bistro is the most famous one , sort of must go to restaurant in Antigonish so, we went there but I would definitely not recommend this restaurant to anyone. We started our meal from carrot & cream soup which was okay ( I had better one in Toronto) & then we ordered Gourmet Flatbreads (Italian sausage, onion pepper & goat cheese on it), you won't see any sausage it was just cheese & my husband ordered Grilled chicken penne pasta for him. Again, undercooked chicken and mushrooms, taste very bad therefore we left everything and asked for bill. Overall, I would say you are just paying for their interior & service.
Had a lovely meal here-staff welcoming .reasonable choice for veggies-did alter gnocchi so was able to have without the meat.Good sweet choice too.
Great dinner after a long day driving in PEI. We sat outside on the patio, enjoyed some wine and had a very good dinner. The restaurant was charming, food delicious and great service. I had the scallops carbonara and it was yummy.
We eat here twice a year on our way to cape Breton. Used to have a very good Salade Nicoise. Last stop had an even better version of a Cobb salad. Wonderful mix of traditional and non traditional ingredients (endive and edamame), well balanced and attractively plated. Pleasant ambience and staff.
My wife and I had dinner here recently on our way to Cape Breton. Everything we had---bread, salad, entrees (I had salmon), dessert, and wine--was exceptionally good. Service was exemplary---attentive without being cloying. It's not cheap, but offers superb value for the money. We ate our way across Nova Scotia, including some really good places in Halifax, but this was the best food we tasted over 10 days. We would go back here in a heartbeat. Highly recommended.
