We came in after dinner one evening and saw this is more of a local dive bar atmosphere. A lot of locals were hanging out and everyone was super friendly....

I work for local government and Anna Maria Island is part of my territory. It was a long wait, while the pub was being remodeled and resurrected. But Wow! It was worth the wait. Friends and I frequent the island beaches weekly and Bortell's is by FAR our favorite watering hole. Great food, excellent drinks and what a great staff! Best pub on the island, hands down!! We came for lunch based on location while visiting AMI. The vibe is definitely sports bar, but the food way surpassed my expectations. Husband and I ordered a pepperoni pizza and Greek salad with blackened chicken to share- probably the best Greek salad I have ever had. Pizza was fresh and cheesy. Our daughters had the fried chicken sandwich (not on the new menu but they will make) and chicken tenders- both were generous portions and the chicken was tender and juicy, not heavily breaded. My son had the burger and enjoyed it. I would definitely recommend checking this place out!

Bartender didn't seem to want to be there. No happy hour. We liked the location before the renovation. Definitely more neighborhood like. Now just another tourist draw. Service: 2 Atmosphere: 4
