The Original Pancake House - Ankeny

Service was good, waitress was friendly, and above all eating was good! not many different options on the menu that make them through the opportunity to make qualitatiw high quality food. I had the chocolate chip waffel and it was a big dessert waffel prizes were reasonable. what turned out were the seasoned breakfast dishes. they were made fresh, I expected frozen, but they were very good and well seasoned.

This restaurant is one of my go-to spots for breakfast. The omelettes are consistently delicious and they offer a wide variety of pancakes. I always order the Irish omelette, filled with bacon and cheddar cheese, along with a side of speck pancakes. On my last visit, I tried the blueberry pancakes with a classic omelette, and both dishes were fantastic. My wife enjoyed a ham and cheese omelette with blueberry pancakes as well. Overall, everything was excellent.

Eating is great. our waiter could use more training. I didn't look to refill coffee. I'll wait ten minutes to get our register card. hostesses could help by checking on parachutes as well, and I know it's hard to find help now. but it never hurts to keep the training.

This place is ridiculously bad. the service is a sweat. they are physically and mentally incapable of finding out how to squeeze together. the crepes were rubber filled with jam. I make better crepes. the waitress tried to tell us gravy was hollanaidse sauce. it's just breakfast. it's not hard.

The waitress provided excellent service and the food was delicious, as always. However, the hostess seemed disinterested and did not make eye contact or greet us properly. She walked away without confirming the size of our party and then returned to stare blankly at us. We had to request a table and she simply waved us towards it. The table was dirty and the restaurant was not busy, so it is unclear why there was a lack of attention to service.
