Large portions (as everywhere on the azoren) very tasty and fresh food. on the outside they wouldn't think they were serving so good.

We visited Elio's on our first evening on the island and again for the Mother's Day buffet. Our food and service was exceptional in both cases. The first night we had fried fresh rockbeard filets accompanied by good potatoes and a salad. We also enjoyed...our sangria. Mother's Day (May 1 in Portugal) buffet included fish and pork cutlets, a fine julienned hot potato dish, an excellent penne with crab pasta salad, and several other choices, as well as a choice of desserts, a glass of wine, and cappuccino, all for 15 euros. The value for one's money is outstanding. In addition, the service provided by Elio's son, who speaks perfect English, enhances one's dining. He takes real joy in serving each customer and chatting when he gets a chance. This is a true family business which treats its customers with care.

We had lunch at Elios and everything was very good and tasty.Its not very inviting from the outside but well worth a visit.The owner was very hospitable and directed us through the menu.We had seafood, steak and pasta.Everything was great.Thanks for a great lunch.

A short walk from Hotel Mar, we were glad to find this authentic restaurant. The small pizza was like it was made in Rome and too much for me in one sitting. My wife’s carbinero Alfredo was amazing. Friendly service, reasonable prices and full of...locals.

Who wants to go to a place that ignores you and locks you out during supposed business hours? Went to Restaurante Elio 's for lunch today at 1:30 (posted lunch hours are noon to 3 p.m. I took a table on the patio, where one other...gentleman was dining. The waiter came outside and gave the man his change (apparently he was paying), then said boa tarde to me and went back inside. He then closed and locked the door. I kept sitting there, thinking he would return. But he never did. The odd thing? Inside the locked restaurant there were people eating. So we left hungry and came back home to eat. Probably won 't be going back, which is a shame, as Elio 's is just around the corner ...
