Food is predictably creative and fun, but the real joy is in the cocktail menu. With the competition from Whiskey Ramen, Spenard Roadhouse, and Crush, local bars have stepped up their game and T61 certainly will not be left behind. This was our first time to Tequila 61. For appetizers we got the calimari and goat cheese balls. For our entrees we got the rock fish tacos and carne asada tacos. My wife got an orange Julius and I got a spicy margarita. Both drinks were excellent. The appetizers were both really good. The tacos were good as well. Good flavor profiles, very well cooked. Though to be honest, the carne asada tacos at Taco King are still hands down the best in town and a fair bit cheaper. They brought out our entrees at the same time as our appetizers. This was really annoying. It’s nice to have some time between the two, plus there’s no room on the table for all the food. I ordered rice and beans with my tacos. They never arrived and we were charged for two orders. They quickly fixed our bill with no problems. All in all, the food is excellent and there are a couple items we want to go back to try. The food is also pretty expensive. Service is excellent. There were some kinks that should have been worked out by now. Especially the lack of time between apps and entrees.
