Kumagoro - Anchorage

I got chicken fried rice, gyoza, and two bowls of miso. for desert i had fried oreos. everything was pretty tasty : my boyfriend ordered chicken teriyaki. he said it was pretty good too.

Got the warm sake and Chef's call on the sushi. I was given a plate of perfectly cut fresh catch. The sake was the icing on the cake.

I placed a pick-up order and was told it would be ready in 20 minutes. However, they weren't offering any nigiri. After waiting 45 minutes and hearing numerous excuses, I finally received my order. It was clear that pick-up orders are not a priority for them, and the sushi chef was new. The wasabi portions I got were minimal, and the fish selection was limited to only three types. The restaurant was only a quarter full, and I saw another customer cancel their order and leave in frustration. The place looked quite run-down and had significantly changed since my last visit. At $125 for my rolls, it definitely wasn't worth the hassle or the wait.

Really? Ordered pick up for re 5 of us and told it was 20 minutes. They would not serve any niguri. An hour and 10 minutes later with many excuses I received my order. Pick up orders are not our priority, and the sushi chef is new. We serve restaurant customers first. Received small, tiny dabs of Wassabi. Their fish selection had only three types. The restaurant was 1/4 full. Another pick up order just cancelled and left. The restaurant was much changed run down. At $125 for my order of rolls, it was not worth the bother...or the wait.

Never received our appetizer, asked for it to be removed from check. My meal came a good 10m after my partners. Cod was good, salmon was meh. Portion sizes were not worth the price, witnessed two parties just leave due to service, and should have followed suit. Restaurant was not packed but witnessed between 4 and 5 staff behind the bar not doing anything while the 2 girls struggled to serve those there. Atmosphere was okay?
