Charlou - Anchorage

The food at Charlou was fantastic and the service was excellent. This was our third visit and it was the best one yet. Our meals arrived promptly after we placed our order. We were especially grateful for the care taken to accommodate our gluten-free dietary needs.

Ciopinno needs refinement. Rockfish spread was delicious. Service was excellent.

I had the clam in white wine and garlic butter sauce special, it was great! comes with two in house bags. my man ordered the charlou ak pasta, but I was not fast enough to get a picture. he the rock fish was a good, gentle balance against the zesty pasta. We recommend the frozen parfait with seasonal apple sauce. incredible!

I love charlou we have come since their introduction and they have always had an excellent service, a varied and storable bar with tons of fantastic beer, weeping and apple wines. but eating is where it really seems to me. everything is so fresh and done so well. they can really taste the love and be careful that put the cook and kitchen in the food. they not only have a seasonal menu, but also nights where there are live musicians, comedians and performers on the stage. it is a really intimate and beautiful atmosphere and I am so glad to see that they finally get more customers because they earn honestly the business. bonus points for the fact that they are very allergen conscious and vegetarian friendly. here are many great gluten-free/dairy free/meat-free options.

Such a wonderful place! Can't recommend this food enough. As local as possible, as fresh as possible, easily best burger in town! Servers are wonderful and their Charlou Salad is to die for. Try the goddess dressing!
