Raj Gate Tandoori - Ampthill

Oh dear, the drinks were lovely and arrived quickly, and the poppadoms were delicious and served promptly. However, it took 1 hour and 15 minutes for our starters to arrive, and the presentation was very poor although they tasted okay. We had to ask for our drinks again, and after another 1 hour and 30 minutes, our main dishes finally arrived. Unfortunately, my dish was cold and served in a chilly bowl. Overall, the restaurant looked nice but the service was disappointing.

This is a really nice place with many paintings. I always have a good meal here and leave feeling satisfied. It was busier than usual tonight so the service was a bit slower, but overall it was great.

I made a reservation for a birthday dinner. When we arrived, we were promptly offered drinks, which was a nice touch. However, we were seated by the door and felt a continuous cold draft due to the lack of a closer on the door, which made us quite chilly. The food took an hour to arrive and when it did, it was either cold or lacked the promised spice, leaving it bland. Overall, we were disappointed with our experience and will not be returning.

Food cold and they seemed to struggle with a booked in advance table of 7 will not be going back and they gave us the bill before clearing the tableAlso please fix you entrance door closer every time someone went out the door stayed open which is not good in mid January

Pretty disappointing experience. We turned up looking for a fairly large table and were met by miserable staff who acted like they didn't want to be there. Once we were eventually seated the service was slow despite the restaurant being nearly empty. The food itself was ok but I've had better from other local venues.
