It appeared to be a popular spot, so I had high expectations going in and I was still impressed. I love that they even have a mural on their exterior from Sarah Meitler, a popular local muralist, which I think helps the building look more fresh and new. They have much more seating than I guessed and while some of their seats look a little old, they are still plenty comfortable and match the aesthetic of a bakery/cafe. They have a great breakfast menu that ends at around 11:20 am and then it switches to a lunch/dinner menu.I snagged a Breakfast Panini right before the menu switched, a white sprinkle donut (my personal favorite), and a cappuccino. I absolutely loved the chipotle aioli and it was large enough that I really didn't need the donut, especially since it was plated with a few orange slices which was the perfect amount of sweet after my savory panini. The white sprinkle donut was the best donut I've had in Utah. I'm not a huge donut fanatic but I've tried my fair share and the dough at Avenue Bakery completely blew me away. I imagine all of their donuts are top notch and I can't wait to go back again. While the food was stellar, the cappuccino left me wanting, it was very hot and pretty regular. That being said, it wasn't below average and wasn't a deal breaker for me. I'm happy to give them a pass on average coffee since it's not their primary focus.Absolutely pleased with my visit and I can't wait for my next excuse to reward myself with donuts!
We love Avenue Bakery at my office. We've found that they're amazing for gluten free options too which is a win! I plan corporate events and we have catered donuts here lots. It's great every time.
Food is decent. Donuts are good. But service lost all the points. Rudest girl ever honestly. It is literally 12:30 and they weren 't serving the soup because they 're still cleaning up from breakfast you mean the soup that is likely already made and no one heated up? They 're lunch menus weren 't up (at 12:15 pm) because they were still cleaning up from breakfast. Half the tables were gross and uncleaned. The line got to the door before someone else started taking orders. It 's unfortunate she was so awful, cause the food is pretty good. (In this gets addressed, it was the girl with the septum and brown hair.)Update: only the donuts were good. Bagel was hard and disappointing.
Best gluten free bread in town! Also we love their unique desserts! We take our kids here for all special occasions!
We 've been here 5 times give or take and each time I think Ah, they 're just having an off day .But after 5 times I can 't say that anymore.....The desserts are mediocre at best, which wouldn 't be an issue if the interior wasn 't always filthy.Tables unclean, garbage piled high, etc. Just look at the included pictures. My best guess, is that it 's due to understaffing. You only ever see one person in front who has to deal with all the customers and the tables and the garbage.
