Got lost in the darkness on our hike. Decided to call the owner late in the evening to ask if he would still take us in once we arrive, as we were still 6k removed from the ranch. Anto immediately drove over, picked us up, lodged us in a surprisingly large and comfortable apartment for a very low price. The people here speak close to no English but are extremely kind and helpful nevertheless.

Our experience at the ranch and horse riding in the Sicilian mountains was beyond beautiful. With the lovely Antonio and Francesco as our guides, I felt completely safe to ride a horse for the first time. The scenery was stunning, the company was fantastic, (lots of laughs! and we couldn’t have hoped for a better experience. It takes just 30 minutes from the buzzing city life of Palermo to reach the peace, inspiration and slowing down of time what only nature can offer. La Moharda is a mountain chain peaking over 900 meters that only few visitors – and locals ! – take the chance to get to know. This experience is very unique together with horses and the guidance of Nino, to whom this mountain is home. I spent an unforgettable day, a lovely place, surrounded by nature, great food, prepared mostly with products grown in the ranch or cmq at km0, I suggest you buy the Oil produced by the owner Nino, who will welcome you making you feel at home, accompanying you in the discovery of the ranch and its fantastic animals, respecting and care. After lunch he accompanied us in a beautiful horse ride. Surely it will become one of those places where we will return whenever we have the chance. Thanks pet the wonderful day
