Some ridiculous pieces of ham or cheese for €13. Rip off.
A nice place to sit and relax in the sun. There is a good selection of beers and accompanied with a selection of Taps makes for a lovely lunch.
We chanced upon this privately owned bodega on our way from the Alcazaba to the Cathedral set in a small pedestrianized plaza with a fountain and shady trees all around it. The owner took great pleasure in telling us the establishment had been in his family since 1949 and his 87 year old father still cooked in the kitchen, following handed down recipes. The pork with garlic tapa was superb, as was the fried cod, and the old cheese one of the best I have tasted in 7 years of living here. With 2 drinks each the bill of 22 euros for the 3 of us was not the cheapest in Almeria but the quiet location and history lesson made it worthwhile. Don 't miss the old wine barrel display inside!
