Le Totem - Allevard

Had a family dinner here, they were very helpful with selecting our food, staff is very friendly and understanding. Food was nice and tasteful, but regular. Be it for the staff I would certainly return, be it for the food, no, not for the quality of the food, but my tastebud were not tempted here, as it is quite regular European American style of food.

To be perfectly honest this review may not be 100% objective for the following reasons: We arrived past 2pm looking for food and were the only clients so waiting time may not be indicative of normal periods. We were starving so we would have eaten anything and everything. We were starving so we would have eaten the table itself if it wasn't going to kill us. That said. The service was really friendly and the food was absolutely delicious truly it surpassed our expectations to be honest. The fries and potato wedges were crisp and not soaking in oil. The burger was smashing and the portion was generous. I chose an ostrich steak and it was cooked beautifully; for an extremely lean meat to be served tender and juicy takes skill! Don't be fooled by the kitsche appearance of the restaurant, the food and service is better than one imagines.
