I asked for extra ginger on the side in the comments (which wouldnt have cost them a cent to provide) and I was charged 1.50 and they gave me NO GINGER at all. The goyza was unedible... it was completely died out and they provided a tiny ramekin of ponzu that wasnt even a quarter full. NEVER AGAIN.
However, I found the soup to be lukewarm. One of my friends ordered the chicken ramen, and I tried a bite... unfortunately, it was not good at all. The soup lacked flavor and tasted more like lukewarm water. I highly recommend the tonkotsu ramen, but I would advise against the chicken ramen. The prices are, as usual in California, quite high; my bowl cost $14 plus tax and tip. I hope to return at least once every two months. If the prices were closer to what you'd find in Japan—around $7—I would definitely be here every week!
I absolutely love the vegan ramen! I've never tasted a broth like this before. The pine nut broth is incredibly creamy and rich! The fried gyoza was great as well. This is my favorite spot for ramen, so please don't change the recipe!!
The ramen was quite disappointing; the noodles had an old taste and appearance, and the broth was too thin, resembling water. They don’t serve it with an egg or half an egg, so my family and I ordered one egg for each ramen bowl, but those eggs were terrible—overly brown and excessively sweet. When my husband asked the waiter about it, he explained that they marinate the eggs in broth, but honestly, they tasted so sugary that it felt like we were adding candy to the ramen. We spent $65 for four bowls of ramen and four unpleasant eggs, which was not worth it. We won't be returning!
The food was delicious and the service was great. We had the tomkotsu and spicy tomkotsu ramen. Highly recommend checking them out.
