China Moon - Algoma

Don't let the exterior of the building discourage you from stepping inside. The food was fantastic, and the family running the restaurant was very welcoming. I ordered the chicken lo mein combo dinner, and I definitely plan to have it again. They offer American food for kids, but next time, I think we'll choose something from the regular menu for them. We'll be returning, whether it’s for dining in or takeout!

Although the exterior may seem a bit rough—with an unused carport and a worn-looking patio—the food here is exceptional. The interior has been newly renovated and is pleasantly bright, though it can feel a bit empty at times, with the only other presence being the owner’s well-behaved children sitting quietly at a table in the back. The prices are affordable, and the flavors are delightful. Despite being the only Chinese restaurant in Algoma, it truly delivers an amazing dining experience. I recommend opting for takeout, as the dining area tends to be quite empty.

I did notice an order being delivered to a table, and the portion sizes were quite generous. The food itself is good and reasonably priced. Since this is the only Chinese restaurant in Algoma, I will probably continue to order takeout or have it delivered. As for dining in, perhaps I'll consider it in the future when I’m in a more carefree mood.

If I could give this place zero stars, I absolutely would. We ordered hot and spicy chicken and spring rolls. The spring rolls were tiny and over-fried! As for the chicken in the hot and spicy dish, it was mostly just chicken skin! When I called to complain, they insisted it was chicken breast, but that’s simply not the case. Do NOT order from here!

This restaurant is a fantastic place to enjoy a meal! The food is outstanding, and I would give it a perfect 5-star rating. The service is exceptional as well, warranting another 5 stars. The atmosphere is enjoyable, so I would rate it 4 stars. All in all, it was a delightful dining experience!
