Alex's College Spot - Alfred

The ambiance is a bit dark and grungy, but comfortable. This is not a dance bar, but rather a place to relax with a jukebox and TV. Overall, Mug nights tend to be busy, but there is a steady crowd most nights. The bar is conveniently located next to a Chinese takeout restaurant and a pizza place.

Place has not changed in 20 years. Great drink prices and deals for mugs. I miss the old pizza kitchen though. They only sell heated frozen pizza now. Food: 2 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Quirky home-in-the wall filled with student artwork and odd sculptures. Amazing array of beers (on tap and in bottle) and full bar of alcohol. You can do an around the world tour for beer and whiskey. Mug night and well drinks cater to college crowds; a great watering hole for adults until about 9:30/10:00pm (then college students come in) Staff is friendly, local. They recognize regulars. Pub grub available. A must stop if you 're visiting Alfred!

Comfortable bar scene. Very fun with art pieces everywhere. Bartenders are so friendly and the owner, Stan, knows so much about his drinks. Food is surprisingly delish. Highly recommend
