We live in Old Town and friends let us know the restaurant is not as inviting and service oriented as it used to be. We were saddened they were right. BRING back the delicious bread customers are accustomed to having, please!
My husband and I had a night away for the first time in a while and decided to eat an Landini Brothers. The food we ordered was good, but unfortunately our waiter made it unpleasant enough for us to just get the check and leave quicker than we wanted to. From the moment we sat down he was annoyed and rushed us through everything. When I inquired about a red wine (and told him what I usually drink) he just laughed at my questions like they were silly then just pointed to the most expensive one on the menu. When I asked to taste it first (it was just a glass) he was visibly annoyed but then went to do so. After we ordered our food, he did not come back at all until he decided we had been there long enough (someone else delivered our food to our table). He didn’t come by to refill water, ask if we wanted new drinks, inquire about our food at all, nothing. 30 ish minutes later he came by and said “are you ready to leave yet I can wrap this up for you”. We were fully prepared to sit and have more drinks, dessert, etc to enjoy our night, but he made it so unpleasant my husband and I decided to just get the check and go somewhere else. While the food was good, it wasn’t good enough to balance out our experience. We will pick somewhere else for our next night out .
Reservation# 2110384558 -Food and service were excellent!!
We have been dining at Landini Brothers at least once a month for the past decade or more. The food and service are consistently good. But we are very disappointed that they no longer serve their marvelous bread, which used to arrive at the table, soft and warm, in a paper bag. Alas, it's gone. For our several most recent visits, the bread they serve is a small, dry, cold, thinly sliced loaf that is almost too crusty to eat. Sadly, we are now removing Landini Brothers from our regular restaurant rotation.
We had 3 separate entrees, one soup and one salad. The Caesar’s salad was excellent overall, with a creamier dressing than you would expect, but flavorful. The asparagus soup was silky and delicious. The agnolotti was just ok, as we asked for a bolognese, and it was average at best. The pasta ala vongole was perfectly al dente, but a little short on clams and very short on flavor. Quite bland. The star entree of the evening was the Shrimp a la Oglio, with great flavor, and the large shrimp cooked perfectly. Ordered angel hair on the side and tossed it into the dish for extra delight.
