フィードバックを提供するHere is amazing! I love going there. when they go, they try their chicken salad and a limonade. as they arrange it, they order a milkshake because they serve killers and they are quite cheap. they have a fully equipped old tyme soda fountain (one of the few exhisting), a complete phamacy, a gift department and a western union. the owners are daniel and lisa champion. when they are ever in alexander city, they go to this place! I swear you won't regret it.
While the staff were friendly and welcoming, the food itself did not meet our expectations. The hamburgers were clearly made from frozen patties, and the hot dog was just mediocre. The chili might have been homemade, but it didn’t complement the hot dog at all. The owner's intention to create an old-fashioned atmosphere is evident, but it ultimately misses the mark. I've been to true vintage soda fountains, and this one doesn’t compare. The nostalgic vibe is somewhat overshadowed by overpriced children's clothing and various knick-knacks scattered throughout the space. They did have a few vintage-looking glass pieces that added a bit of charm, but it just wasn't enough. For the record, a hamburger with a small bag of chips and a drink and a hot dog with a similar side and drink came to just over nine dollars. Overall, it was not the delightful experience I had anticipated.
I absolutely love this place! If you get the chance, you should definitely stop by! I ordered the mixed plate, which includes a choice of 2 or 3 of their 4 salads, along with salad, tomatoes (and I must say, their tomatoes are incredible!), pickles, and crackers. It was amazing! I also tried their speck pimento mac and cheese, which I thought was fantastic—and yes, it actually has real speck in it! I wasn't disappointed with my drink either; I had a Lemon Blue Freeze that was refreshing. For dessert, I couldn't resist ordering the hot fudge brownie sundae, and it was fabulous! The combination of the warm brownie, real (not soft serve!) ice cream, and gooey hot fudge was out of this world. Plus, it was topped with whipped cream, a cherry, and served in a charming glass bowl. I can't wait to come back and try more of their wonderful menu!
I still love this place; it has an old-fashioned soda fountain and fantastic chicken salad sandwiches. I've also heard great things about the pimento sandwich. For kids, a grilled cheese with a lemonade or lemon-lime drink is a perfect choice. It's truly a wonderful spot, but they definitely miss the previous owners. Once they settle in, I can see this place earning a full 5-star rating. Looking forward to that!
