Why is it that every time I visit this place at 8:30 a.m. on weekdays, there are only a few items for sale? When I inquire about the rest, I'm told they'll be out shortly. Shouldn't all baked goods be ready before opening so that customers have more choices instead of just the fewer than five items available? I think so. As a result, I end up picking something else to take back for my office staff. Sigh...
On April 25, 2021, a friend brought me some sweet pastries because she knows how much I love Brug. It was my first time trying their sweet treats. She brought me Koshi Anpan, a mochi donut, Okinawan potato mochi, and a type of cinnamon roll (I couldn't find the name on her menu). They were all delicious! My favorites were the Koshi Anpan, which was gently filled with red bean paste, and the mochi elements that were chewy and delightful. On December 1, 2021, I went in for my favorite, the Kitaguni, but unfortunately, they were sold out. So instead, I got a pastrami and cheese focaccia, a tomato pesto and mozzarella focaccia, a spinach and ham roll, and a teriyaki chicken roll. I gave the two focaccias to my husband, who loved them, and he's not normally a bread person. The spinach and ham roll and the teriyaki chicken roll were mine, and they were both absolutely delicious! I loved the teriyaki chicken roll, which had creamy mayonnaise and nori—so tasty!
They were open for over an hour, but not yet everything was on the shelf. But the pastries are so soft and tasty. The kiss in the apple was so good.
I only got a half order of the mochi waffle. My wife loved it! When I have more time, I will come back and try the other tasty looking pastries.
