The restaurant offers excellent coffee and delicious smoothie bowls. However, the menu options are quite limited. Additionally, there is a 3% surcharge for card payments. I believe this cost should be covered by the business owner, rather than passed on to customers. It might be better for the restaurant to simply not accept card payments at all.
Everything here is amazing. The food is delicious, the service is excellent, and the atmosphere is great.
The kip is a fairly new restaurant in ahangama (opened 5 months ago), but it already has a great influence on the local food scene. we had heard of 2 other people that we had to eat here and it was easy to see why. in a beautiful garden outdoors, surrounded by lush green plants and tiki flares (in the night,) the ambiente at the kip from any other restaurant we went on the south coast of sri lanka is incomparable. this is a great place for date night, treat a spouse / partner, or celebrate with friends / family. eating is fantastic. most of them will grow up in their garden and all they can not grow themselves, they come from the local community. for beverages we ordered a ginger-mint ice tea and an elephant-spray cocktail, both of which were very refreshing! the dinner menu seems Italian inspired and easy to be with antipasti, pastas and desserts. for dinner we shared the gotu-kola leaves and cauliflower salad (with rusty, walnuts, nutritional and coconut vinegar), which was very delicious. there was another antipasti that could be made vegan (roasted beet roots and carrots). for pasta we had the pink ravioli filled with a Brat-Cauliflower and Broccoli-Pure, served on a vegan cheese sauce. it was perhaps the best pasta we ever tasted. both dessert options were vegan, one was homemade cashew lavender ice cream with two homemade shortbread cookies and the second was a dulce de leche cake served with ice cream. both were fantastic! we also went to the kip for brunch and were equally impressed. brunch is in the form of a “Make your own tapas board”, where they can choose 3 or 5 tapas elements (and add additional when they are hungry). we had the wood-coal **** with sesame seeds grilled tofu; kartoffel bunny with jam tomato, carburized lye and vegan mayo; the pumpkin hummus; golden over the night with fresh fruit; raw breakfast cake; and chia pudding with cocos milk. all were amazing and we would return to a heartbeat to eat this again! it also operates a bnb on the grounds that looked beautiful.
The food came fast. Cashew ice latte was delicious, but rather small for 700. Nice staff. But expensive European prices.
