フィードバックを提供するA hidden gem of modern japanese convenience food with a traditional twist. Tucked away in the corner of the arcades, Katsumoto provides a unique japanese experiene. The menu selection is rather small, and the croquette side dishes are a little pricy, but the mains are wonderful. Each dish contains an assortment of sides whether it be Tsukemono (Japanese pickles), miso soup or simple rice bowls. Each dish is diverse in flsvour, with a noticeable emphasis towards traditional Japanese cooking methods including the use of soy sauce, sake, mirin, seaweed and much more. The only downfalls of this restaurant is the price of sidedishes and the aesthetic of restaurant, which could do with a makeover. Overall, a great eat for a genuinely Japanese meal!
Just open the one night for dinner (Friday), it does not look like much on the inside, pretty tired looking. Tonkatsu set was enjoyable. It's a bit of hit and miss with non-jap owners for jap restaurants but they do a good job here, no weird substitute ingredients or odd flavours. I would come again for the non wanky home style Japanese food at a good price.
Tucked away in the corner of Adelaide Arcade, you would never know Katsumoto ever existed! It was my first time here today with two friends, and I have to say it wasn't too shabby. I reckon the place could do a little refurbishment considering: (1) it looks depressing, and (2) they could get rid of some unused storage lying around and make room for more tables and chairs. Now to the food - I ordered the Toriteriyaki Don Set ($11.50) + Potato Korroke (2 for $5), while friends ordered the Tonkatsu Set ($11.50) and Yakitori Set ($11.50). I found the Korroke to be a little too expensive but it tasted pretty nice nonetheless, and my set was pretty average (not bad but not that great either)! This place is NOT for those wanting to dine out somewhere fancy, but is mainly for students, or workers on the run for a quick feed. Not the best Japanese food I've tasted but it wouldn't hurt to go there again if I was hungry and this place happened to be nearby. Also, pricing is standard + cheap, and the staff were friendly and always said thank you to every customer when they left.

Love the food here! Always a go to when I can't decide what to eat during lunch breaks in school. For the amount and taste of the food, its value for money. I recommend the Jap Curry or the Tonkatsu Set.
