Jay’s Bbq Shack - Abilene

This is how brisket should taste—perfectly cooked and seasoned. The sausage was also good. The ribs were well prepared, but I wished they had more meat on them. The candy bacon was delicious, even though I ordered burnt ends (there's a difference that I wish they would have mentioned). Everyone was friendly, and the line moved quickly.

I can only comment on the brisket since that was all I tried, but it was a perfect 10/10. It had incredible flavor, was tender and moist, and easy to eat with a fork—just how brisket should be! The restaurant offers outdoor seating and quick service. My only complaint is the limited side options. However, I would definitely recommend going for the brisket!

One of the top BBQ spots in Abilene! They open at 11 AM, and you’ll want to arrive early as the line often begins to form by 10:45 or even earlier. They offer daily specials that vary, keeping the menu exciting and fresh. While there is no indoor seating, they’ve created a lovely outdoor area equipped with plenty of fans and misters to keep you cool on hot days.

Love Jay’s so much! Their mac cheese is my favorite in Abilene. Their “pig candy” is incredible, their brisket is moist and flavorful, and they always have the most unique, mouth-watering specials! I can’t wait to get my hands on a frito pie sausage, a cheesecake chimichanga, and a jalapeño popper sausage ball! My only wish is that they were open for dinner too so we could make it there more often!

This place has amazing bbq. The bacon was amazing and so was the brisket. Everything had flavor and was tender. Don’t miss out on this place!
