Great pizzas in a lovely, rustic setting. I came here for a weeknight dinner and almost forgot it wasn't the weekend - I like that kind of escapism. The
We found this great place by chance. It was buzzing especially considering it was Monday. We got a seat at the counter and started our delicious journey. A tasty red to start while we considered the menu which made choosing difficult. We settled on the whitebait and some olives. Then two medium pizzas, mushroom and prosciutto won the day. The whitebait was amazing. The prosciutto pizza was devinely sweet but the mushroom pizza may be the best pizza I have eaten (those in Italy included). We then made the near fatal mistake of ordering dessert. Luckily we were seated on stools as others getting up might have been tricky. The Nutella calzone was huge and filled to overflowing. The tiramisu was so tasty and persuasive I couldn't stop eating it even when my stomach said enough!! A word of warning. Share the desserts!!! A meal we won't forget and we will be back. And the staff were fantastic too!
Rita's is a fabulous pizza/pasta restaurants. No complaints about the food whatsoever. It is a fully licensed restaurant so can be a bit pricey. The only thing we didn't like was that they had 2 sittings and that was a bit of a shame as you were rushing knowing someone else was coming soon. BUT OTHERWISE WORTH IT FOR THE FOOD
