Roy's Hickory Pit Bbq - Hutchinson

The staff at this restaurant are incredibly friendly, and the atmosphere is great. It’s a bit smoky inside, but that’s to be expected at a BBQ joint! I really enjoyed the BBQ; I ordered the four-meat platter, which included chopped brisket, pulled pork, turkey, and hot link, along with a rib. All the meats were beautifully smoky, just the way I like it, and the sauce was outstanding. I highly recommend this place; it was a fantastic BBQ experience!

The smoke from the exhaust vent filled the restaurant, giving us a headache for the rest of the afternoon. The smoked meat was overcooked and covered in a sauce we didn't enjoy. The salad bar consisted only of the side dishes listed, with no actual salad available.

After spending three decades living elsewhere, I returned to the area to visit family and couldn't resist coming back to my hometown for some BBQ that holds a special place in my memories. I was not disappointed at all; it was just as delicious as I remembered!

My husband is from Hutchinson, and he wanted to have some barbecue from his youth. This is the first time that I tried, and I love it. We are coming form north of Houston Texas, and let me tell you. I didn't have this cuality in Texas. Keep the good work. Thank you.

I have been eating at Roy's for 20+ years. I travel all over Kansas for work and Roy's is a fantastic place for BBQ and I would argue maybe the best BBQ in Kansas. I judge most BBQ places for their brisket and my go to at Roy's is the brisket and hot link sandwich; however, they have great shredded pork and turkey as well. Their homemade BBQ sauce is delicious and the staff (Ann especially) are friendly and helpful. Depending on the day there could be a line out the door and when the food runs out, it runs out, so get there early to ensure you get the meal you want.
